We spent the day at Grammy’s house. She doesn’t work on Mondays and Michael is out of town, so I took the opportunity to have a little help with Bennett. She has a blow up pool at her house that is so much better than the one we have at ours. I’m sure the day will come when Bennett says, “Everything is better at Grammy’s house, Mama!”.
We spent the weekend with my family in Shreveport, Louisiana. Both of my parents are from Shreveport, and I was born there, but we moved to Arkansas when I was 2 years old. So, I didn’t really see my grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles very often growing up. So, I cherish an opportunity to go down for a visit. It’s good for me and I know they love to see Bennett.
My grandpa, Grammy Carol, Michael, and my cousin-in-law Kenneth had fun entertaining my niece Keagan.
My cousin Jessica enjoyed meeting Bennett for the first time!
My dad cuddling with his grand-babies. My niece seeking refuge from my crazy family with my sister. Bennett and Keagan enthralled with the carpet.
Cousin Sarah’s sweet baby girl, Laken. She’s 2 weeks younger than Bennett and could not be sweeter. This was my second time to see her since she was born.
My favorite moment of the weekend! Michael is training for the Little Rock half marathon and forgot his shorts. He had to borrow Grandpa’s tennis shorts. (yes, my 80-year-old Grandpa plays tennis. He’s amazing.)
This weekend was so refreshing to me in so many ways. Even though Bennett was cutting four teeth, had a 102 degree fever, and spent most the weekend fussing and wanting Mama, spending time with family is precious and I take it for granted. I’m so thankful for the grands and greats in my life.
